EA Sports WRC
Safari Rally
Kenya,
Malewa
I was the level owner for the Malewa stage in the Kenyan Safari Rally so it was my responsibility to see the track through the creation process along every step of the track creation pipeline.

Initially I was tasked with selecting 2 viable stages that would be run in the Kenyan Safari Rally and gather information and references about them that would be used to create some early concept and experience maps.
Out of the multiple stages to research, I chose on the Malewa and Soysambu tracks as prime candidates for the game as these stages offered the best taste of what you would expect from the brutal Safari Rally. Malewa offered tight, technical corners and the occasional jump over incredibly rocky roads, whilst Soysambu boasted high speed straights and watersplashes through the Kenyan grasslands.

Once the tracks were presented and approved, I was assigned ownership of the Malewa parent track and worked on developing the blockout alongside another level designer who took ownership of the Soysambu track, as well as a team of artists, from blockout through to track detailing and then the final quality phases to final handoff.

Outside of Malewa, my responsibilities also included assisting other level designers on other tracks in aspects such as:
-
Setting up replay cameras
-
Setting up crowd zones
-
Anti Cheat and Corner Cutting prevention
-
Bug Testing and Fixing
-
Polish Passes
-
Track, Tool and Process documentation
